ABOUT

In 10 years Light Initiative (LI) have grown to be a prolific service provider to the European television industry, from LED installations and tailor-made set fabrications, to gaming and interactivity systems, lighting products and wearables. Current credits include Strictly Come Dancing, The Voice, Crystal Maze, X Factor, Children in Need, The Chase, Pointless and Tipping Point to name but a few.

LI created the gaming systems on Crystal Maze and Spy School and the control system for the life-size Pacman for Ant & Dec. We created a 156m2 transparent video screen for Victoria’s Secrets, the world’s largest LED chandelier for Gary Barlow, and the world leading video performance costumes for Arcadia Spectacular-Metamorphosis.

We’ve designed, manufactured and programmed 800 wireless batons for the opening ceremony of the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat – the third largest ceremony performance in history. As a founding partner of Flying Screens Ltd, we developed the world’s first Drone Screen – as seen in the LUCID film and the Camelphat music video.

We created the current Tracey Emin installation in St Pancras International Station, designed to look like her neon art pieces on a grand scale. The fixture contains 68,000 LEDs. Most recently we designed, fabricated and installed our biggest structure yet: the EPIC 6 Holosphere for Eric Prydz at Tomorrowland. The 8 metre sphere is a world first in video screen technology, comprising 2.4 million LEDs.
